On January 20th, the second CARIBSAN webinar took place with the objective of informing the technical staff of Caribbean wastewater utilities about treatment wetland technology. 

The goal of this webinar addressed to members of the Cuban National Institute of Water Resources (INRH) was to introduce the technical staff to the functioning of this nature-based solution for wastewater treatment.  

Experts from the French National Institute for Agricultural, Food and Environmental Research (INRAE) presented the mechanisms involved in treatment wetland systems for wastewater treatment, their adaptation to tropical islands, and, finally, presented their benefits and drawbacks.

The 25 participants from the Cuban sanitation services thus had the opportunity to ask many questions to the speakers.
